Adobe announced that their new development platform, Flex will be open sourced. This will allow other developers to track progress and direction with the platform, as well as contribute their own code. Someone could even create a better tool than Flash to create engaging user experiences. This could be a prelude to some interesting developments at Microsoft’s Mix conference, a “72 hour conversation” where William Hurley, an open source guru will be leading a panel on “Open Source, the Web, Interoperability, and Microsoft.” Open source Silverlight anyone?
