Sometime this year, Microsoft will begin shipping Surface, a new multi touch gestural interface on a flat surface that can recognize and connect with other objects. Some of the videos look very exciting. It seems that folks in the non techie crowd getĀ juiced when they see this type of computing paradigm. It looks fun and cool, so it may have legs to capture the general computing market someday. I hear that Surface is built on WPF, which bodes well for the capabilities of this new platform. Surface will do some interesting things for experience designers. It isn’t new technology, just neatly packaged. Which will give innovators and designers a common language to develop interesting applications.
